Help us reach our goal
Listen up everybody, important news!
Do you want to win a teambuilding event for you and 9 of your colleagues? Or a spa stay at Skallerup Seaside Resort for you and a loved one? Or some of the other prices and discounts? -and at the same time support us towards our journey to Red Bull Youth America’s cup? It sounds pretty good, right?
We just launched a crowdfunding to make it possible for us to attend the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup. We really hope you want to support our journey to make Denmark one of the leading nations in the future of sailing.
“I’ve been working on this for a long time and I just really hope people will see the potential in us. Besides supporting us there’s some great opportunities to save a lot of money and win some cool stuff, so I strongly recommend everybody, whether they’re a sailor or not, to go have a look at our crowdfunding. We would like to thank all the crowdfunding sponsors, without them the crowdfunding definitely wouldn’t be the success we expect it to be” says Anders Kronborg Kjær, part of Youth Vikings Denmark and responsible for the crowdfunding.

Youth Vikings Denmark is selected for the Red Bull Youth America's Cup 2017. To ensure participation the entire sailing Denmark needs to support the project.
Youth Vikings Denmark is the united Danish challenger towards Red Bull Youth America's Cup. Young sailors have constructed an ambitious project that long-term will help to ensure that Denmark as a nation is at the forefront in the development of the new high-tech direction in boating. The team will sail under the KDY flag, but they want other interested clubs to have the opportunity to be a part of the journey.
The team has following interesting offer for clubs across the country:

Youth Vikings to GC32 Worlds in Oman with extreme short notice
Youth Vikings Denmark, selected for Red Bull Youth Americas Cup, was Friday evening offered a unique opportunity to train together in a foiling catamaran.
The organizer of the GC32 Worlds contacted Mads Emil Lubeck who is connected to the professional Danish SAP Extreme GC32-team.
"I was on the way to the airport when I received the call. Before I got the chance to introduce the other Vikings to the offer, the organizer called me again to inform me that 3 other teams were interested in participating in the Worlds. Not wanting to lose this offer I took the chance and said yes. "
Everything had to happen quickly. The team was informed. Fast decisions had to be made.
This was a unique opportunity - we decided to participate.
Team coach, Michael Hestbæk says "this is a unique chance for the young guys, and they have my full support. Luckily it was possible for me to join them"
Due to the short notice the team hasn’t had the time to exploit the exposure opportunities, but the organizers have promised an immediate solution if a sponsor turns up.
The team left for Muscat, Oman Sunday afternoon. Arriving Monday morning after a long journey, and few hours of sleep they went straight from the airport to the harbor. With just under a day to handle the complex systems on the GC32 they were busy.
"People at the harbor were incredibly helpful in getting the boat ready why we managed to get 2 hours on the water before the sun went down." a tired Stig Steinfurth stated.
The races begin on Tuesday, February 28th and can be followed on https://www.gc32championship.com/

Youth Vikings Denmark brings companies together to achieve the goal securing financial basis for their participation in Red Bull Youth America’s Cup.
The just ended business to business (B2B) event organized by the project ‘Youth Vikings Denmark’ attracted more than 80 interested business leaders from a wide range of companies.
Senior Partner Michael Gaarmann from the law firm Lundgren welcomed the guests together with Lars Ive, president of the Royal Danish Yacht Club. Disruption expert Mogens Bjerre from CBS gave an insight into "Disruption", which also characterizes the current development in boating. Subsequently, current sponsors, partners and other guests had the opportunity to network.
The goal of the event was to lead different companies together for mutual benefit, and through the value of this meeting help find additional funding for the project.
The company Task Lift was the first to support the project based on the event, and participated with five engaged people. Sales Director Lars Wilken gave the following comment: "It is valuable to be able to expose Task Lift and our digital documentation solutions. Our customers were also happy to participate - and moreover to have established contact to potential customers"
Most recent Viking sponsor is Winner Optimist. Other sponsors and supporters are Per Falholt A / S, Asseco, Knowledge Cotton Apperal, KDY, SanderMap, Task Lift, DkSejlsport, Wire Delta, Danish Sailing Association, Extreme Challenger, X-Yachts Spain, PwC and especially the law firm Lundgren who hosted the event.

A Big thank you to Extreme Challenger
Extreme Challenger led by Danish Rasmus Køstner and Jes Gram-Hansen has already contributed with most importing support, by allowing Youth Vikings Denmark to use their GC32 for the selection last fall. By lending their boat to the young sailors, they opened an otherwise very heavy and costly door, that made this project a reality.
“Extreme Challenger will contribute to the Youth Vikings Denmark project with equipment, sailing knowledge and campaign management.” States Rasmus Køstner
Thank you for opening doors for young talents through many years, and contributing with most needed support!
Danish Sailing Federation
In our goal to promote sailing, this next partner is very important, almost crucial to the project! The Danish Sailing Federation, in particular sports manager Thomas Jacobsen, has given his support to the team in sportive manegement and administration.
"One of our key objectives in Danish sailing is to prepare our young sailors for competition at the highest level. To be part og the Red Bull Youth Americas Cup is a massive achievement. It's with great pride we look forward to follow and support Youth Vikings Denmark towards Bermuda in June 2017" Comments Thomas.
Besides the very important support the federation has agreed to provide us with an interest free loan to cover the costly deposit. Cristopher "It's a huge advantage and gives us an economical freedom, not having to pay the 25,000$ deposit our selfs".
The media coverage used in the America’s Cup and the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup is spectacular. Graphic designs combined with overview shots makes it easy for the spectator to see the full picture, while dynamic onboard camera and microphones capture all the action up close. Whether you are in front of your television, smartphone or computer you will be able to follow the individual boats while keeping the full picture in mind.
